TERMS AND CONDITIONS
General Conditions
Music
As many of our villas are in residential areas, guests and event organisers need to be sensitive to the local community (Banjar). There are generally strict local rules about music and noise, although these do vary from villa to villa (check the individual Villa Guidelines). The rules typically are:
• Live music (band) and DJ permitted until 11pm (unless mentioned otherwise in individual villa guidelines)
• Recorded music permitted until 12 midnight (unless mentioned otherwise in individual villa guidelines)
• Reasonable house stereo system permitted after 12 midnight (the villa manager to determine appropriate sound levels at all times)
Weather
Generally, April through to October offers good weather conditions for any event at Noku Beach House, however, due to recent global weather changes, we strongly advised EOs and guests to consider wet weather conditions and plan accordingly for events during the whole year. Reviewing the weather forecast closer to the wedding day is a MUST during any time of the year, as the villa has no wet weather back up OR big indoor space to accommodate the guests, especially when it involves a larger group.
It is compulsory to use a marquee or a tent on rainy days during the whole year, and special pre-planning will be required for the rainy season months in Bali (due to a high demand for marquees or tents) which normally runs from November - March (subject to change).
The marquee or tent must be freestanding and needs to have clear plastic sides curtains and proper flooring. A professional vendor is required to ensure the quality of the structure follows EH standards.
Guest Washrooms
There are a total of four public toilets available for guest use. Two guest's toilets are available near the villa's dining and living room and the additional two can be found attached to the villa's main building. It is the responsibility of the EO's to oversee the cleanliness of these toilets during the course of the event and the guests to ensure their belongings in the bedrooms are safely stored.
Parking and Access
The parking area is to be kept free for guests' arrivals and departures (drop off and pick up only). There is no parking on site for EOs or suppliers. Vehicles are permitted a max one-hour period for loading/unloading however must be off site at least one hour prior to the event
Power, Cabling and Lighting
Villa electrical supplies are generally not sufficient to cater for events. In order not to damage the supply and to protect the villa from fire hazards the guidelines below need to be followed:
• No power is to be drawn from the villa supply
• A generator with minimum 40KVA should be supplied
• Cables should not be dug into lawns
• Cables should try to follow edges of concrete / grass where possible
• Cable traps should be laid in high traffic areas or where cables may pose a safety risk
• Electric lanterns are permitted to be hung from trees using existing nails only
• Heavy lighting must be attached by metal brace and not by hooks and nails
• Paper candle lanterns, balloon release, confetti bomb, or Thai wishing lanterns are not permitted
• Fireworks are strictly forbidden to be lit on from the villa or the surrounding area due toenvironmental issue.
• All candles should have candle bases to prevent wax spillage
Structure
Many events require structures to be built at the villa. These structures can cause considerable long-term damage, especially to lawns and swimming pools. To minimize the risks of damage the following guidelines are in place:
• Structures such as marquees, service bars, pool platforms, dance floors and DJ booths need to be included on the Site Plan for approval
• Marquees should be freestanding where possible
• Staging and platforms should have drop sheets put down before painting
REGULATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS
The living room and pergola terrace are ideal for welcome drinks. Furniture in here may be removed and this space can be used for smaller events (less than 50) as a contingency in the event of rain. EOs should consider this space only in the case of emergencies and ensure proper wet weather plans be conceived for events taking place between November and March.
• Fireworks, balloon release, and/or Thai wishing lanterns are strictly forbidden.
• Marquees are allowed, however these must be freestanding.
• The loading area must be cleared 2 hours before the event is due to commence as after that no vehicles are allowed to enter this loading area. Maximum loading time allowed is for a period of one hour.
• No staging is to be built into or over the pool.
• Floating bamboo and foam structures for candles and flowers are permitted however the EO should ensure their removal by 1 am or as soon as guests enter the pool in order to avoid any damage or injury.
